BUILT
FROM MUD.

02 — The house

Who we are.

CORROPT & CHROMA is a Zimbabwean fashion house from Harare, built around a single idea: nothing worth wearing arrives pristine. Everything we make is built from mud — cut, dyed, broken in, and only then sent out.

We work in heavyweight cottons, garment-dyed in earth-grade tones, punctured by one violent hit of signal orange. We do not work in seasons. We work in chapters. We do not advertise. We do not run sales.

03 — The wearer

Who we are for.

The person who has been told to “pick a lane” their whole life — by family, by school, by the internet — and is tired of performing a version of themselves that was never the whole thing. They want clothes with a history, not a finish.

They are the wearer. The clothes are the link.

For
People who want the wear to show.
Who would rather own five things that last.
Who refuse to pick a self.
Not for
People who want to be one thing.
Who want to be liked by everyone.
Who think clothes are background.
04 — The fight
Our enemy is not another brand. It is a condition.

THE SINGLE
SELF.

The lie that you have to pick one version of you and perform it forever. Polished OR real. Finished OR alive. The quiet one OR the loud one. We exist to make that lie unwearable.

05 — The ethos

The seven.

  1. 01
Always show two poles. Never one.
  2. 02
Sell the identity, not the garment.
  3. 03
Name the enemy in every piece.
  4. 04
    Refuse the safe middle.
  5. 05
Repeat the through line until it becomes the brand.
  6. 06
Heavyweight, garment-dyed, earth-grade — with one violent hit of orange.
  7. 07
The wearer is the link. We just make the clothes.
06 — World one
CORROPT

From the 13th-century Catalan word for “broken in.”
The clothes are not pristine. They are not meant to be.

  • The wear.
  • The body.
  • The streets.
  • The night.
  • The grief.
  • The guilt.
  • The dying.
07 — World two
CHROMA

From the Greek root for colour, hue, saturation.
Where light enters the body.

  • The colour.
  • The soul.
  • The light.
  • The morning.
  • The joy.
  • The innocence.
  • The creating.
08 — The mark
The Link

The link.

The mark is two letters interlocked. The left C is darkness, wear, the streets. The right C is colour, soul, the morning. The link between them is the wearer. The body is where the two worlds meet.

09 — The north star

The goal.

Build the first fashion house in Africa that people quote, not just wear. Become the brand that gives people permission to stop hiding. Sell out every chapter to a list, not a market. Never go on sale. Rarely restock. Be the most precise, least negotiable name in the continent’s wardrobe by 2030.

10 — The formula

[POLE A] AND [POLE B].
SAME PERSON. SAME WARDROBE.

The workday and the after-hours.
The polish and the dirt.
The mother and the menace.
The breakdown and the breakthrough.
The hustle and the home.
